Bills only need just over 50% to pass the House unless it was a veto.
Was this put on a vetoed item?
BS! Not everyone gets a check. The congress no longer represents everyone.
[Remember, Trump asked for this to be done in his signing statement on the Covid bill yesterday.]
They are voting to override the veto on the defense bill right now. And they will easily override it going by the current votes. Way more that half of republicans that have voted have already voted to override.
What do you think about the $7 trillion (Trumps estimate) we’ve spent on mideast wars and nationbuilding since 2002? And the spending continues today on all those wars and occupations.
I don’t know yet. Just got online a few minutes ago. Let Me root around for a few.
Wrong. In his covid-Bill signing statement yesterday, Trump said he had received assurance there would be a vote on increasing the bailout for individuals from $600 to $2000.
That vote just happened in the House. Now it goes to the Senate.
“Trump supports $2000. You oppose it - and him?”
Yes. Not everyone gets that $2,000. The ‘rich’ get f’d and do not get a check.
Im ALL for giving money to AMERICANS..the so called “Relief package” President Trump signed yesterday is full of disgusting pork..the same people who say OMG OMG we are in debt have NO problem sending BILLIONS to foreign countries, why do they need the money..Ive never heard a foreign leader say “In our budget, we will send America 500 mil” no one ever offers us cash
Well done
“ Way more that half of republicans that have voted have already voted to override.”
That bill includes a provision (inserted by Liz Cheney) restricting the president from withdrawing from Afghanistan. So we’re back to the old pre-Trump GOP. We’re back to Cheney’s GOP of endless wars and endless spending on occupations and nationbuilding in the Middle East
It’s Liz Cheney’s party, not Trumps.
[So many bailouts for banks over the past 15 years. (followed by bonuses for top executives). But somehow it’s outrageous to bail out average people]
The bank bailouts were a bailout of the little people. While executives near the top benefited from them, with only the top men getting axed, the biggest beneficiary was the American working man, starting from assembly line workers at GM, who got to work another day instead of having their workplaces sold for scrap.
Yes, well said
I got it. You’re for the feds bailing out banks but not little guys.
That’s the old GOP. It’s the Romney GOP. And it’s back now that Trumps leaving. And it will never win the presidency again - just as MCCain and Romney couldn’t win.
[Wrong. In his covid-Bill signing statement yesterday, Trump said he had received assurance there would be a vote on increasing the bailout for individuals from $600 to $2000.

Don’t get me wrong, I am a hypocrite. I won’t send my money back. But I do think that we are turning a dangerous corner here.

If Trump doesn’t prevail in stopping the steal,
it won’t matter.
That needed 2/3rds for what ever reason. It was clear stated even by the clerk.
It’s a demonratcommieblmantifaterrorscumchildmolestinggoatrapists Wet Dream to endlessly pass out see through money.
They pass out just enough money to see You through for a week or two.
They ignore Us until they decide We’ve suffered long enough and then in their minds do a good deed and pass out some Mo’ Money.
A million? Yes please.
Both House and Senate require 2/3 vote to suspend the rules of debate (necessary if they need to rush something).
