Loughlin was released from the federal lockup in Dublin, California, where she had been serving her sentence for her role in the college admissions bribery scheme, the federal Bureau of Prisons said. Her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, is serving his five-month sentence at a prison in Lompoc near Santa Barbara, California.

No, it isn't.

I have had an Asian DIL for 25 years———love her dearly.

We arrest some Celebrity for paying some sleaze ball to get their Kids into a good College yet we don’t do anything to people who committed Felonies to steal a Federal Election.
Such is America today.
Sorry to see such narrow-mindedness on this forum. My adopted sister is Chinese; her husband is Caucasian. I have many friends who are married to someone of a different race. After all, we are really one human race.
Hope she learned a lesson.
And yet no retribution for the universities who were complicit? I wonder who is more guilty - the BRIBER or the BRIBEE?
well not all the universities knew about it
sometimes it was a employee or two working together within the school, but no one else in the school knew in any power position to do anything about it
Hallmark is missing a bet if they don’t do some women’s prison movies...

You can’t possibly be this naive.
cant say for all cases 100% certain
especially for non high-profile abusers who arent well-known
Then tell me who was defrauded in this case.
(The issue of tax fraud by those who used a phony charity to hide their bribes and deducted their contributions on their tax returns is a separate issue. I don’t believe this was the case with the Loughlins.)
Lying on a college application doesn’t constitute “fraud” by any stretch.
At worse, let them do some community service.
Why?
Two months for this is a joke. She and others doing the same belong in jail for years—make example of these so-called elites that they cannot lie, cheat, and steal.
I assume you’re joking. The college admissions process has been a farce. Lying on a college application is about as consequential as inflating your Excel and Word skills on your resume.
Lying should never be tolerated. Paying bribes goes over the top. Paying people to take exams etc. is your intentional cheating. Sorry two months is a joke for this, I’m sure she’s not the only one that’s done it, hopefully that out everybody that does this type of BS.
I am really bothered by this. Everyone makes excuses and dismisses lying, cheating, and stealing. Speaking just for myself, maybe I am a rare exception, but I have never lied on a college application, never lied on an employment application, never lied on a resume. I don’t understand why people would, and I especially do not understand why people would think it’s OK to do so and even defend people that do. The end result of doing so, gives us people like Biden. If the president can do it, I guess everybody can. Let’s just throw away all of our ethics, morals, etc. They don’t matter anymore. Is that what you’re suggesting?
