It's not a matter of caving. We got blackmailed by the House. They had 10 times the cr** in it when they started.

Remember, there are two attached bills going on at the same time.

Read somewhere that when the $1,200 payments were announced
last spring, Pelosi called it chickenfeed.

So now she pushes through half as much?

The woman is not all there. And what is, is highly suspect.

On Monday the House will vote to increase payments to individuals from $600 to $2,000.

That is concrete.

The Senate will start the process for a vote that increases checks to $2,000.

That is vague, amorphous, and fails to hold the Senators accountable.

If it hastens the collapse of this morally, financially and culturally bankrupt and repugnant system (and government) then - sign me up!

including termination of authorized projects or activities for which budget authority has been provided

The above was included for a reason. It may be the thread that will unwind this situation. Authorization can be removed if kickbacks are identified, if foreign actors were part of the election steal and for other reasons.

You’d rather have the government shut down?

He is saying the right things but doing the wrong thing.

Apparently, Trump wants to continue the illusion that he is the leader of the GOP. A messy veto override would shatter that. My guess is he is doing this to run again in 2024. I’m not sure why. The GOP will just green light another steal in 2024. He has no chance then either. I wish it was different but it is what it is.

Agreed. This moves the ball down the court. Keeps Americans safe & the economy as intact as he can make it while generating leverage on the election investigations.

I dont agree. It is possible Mark Meadows snowed him but I dont think that is all it is. I dont know why he caved and didnt force them into action but doing it this way sets up what happens next. When he exits the office he can use this as a sledge hammer when he tries to get them out of office in the next election

Nah. See, there won't be a "next election" if he doesn't prevail NOW. And insofar as whatever bit of theatre they pass off as an "election" next time is concerned, Trump won't be around to say or do anything because he'll either be in prison or executed.

The DS has already proven both the will and the means to incarcerate POLITICAL PRISONERS - ref. General Mike Flynn. With China Joe occupying the WH, they will ABSOLUTELY cook up whatever they need to give the FBI Stasi cover to put him away for the rest of his life. And probably most of his family too.

This is it folks. This is the hill Trump - and the rest of us - either win or die on.

I read the link you posted prior to.

POTUS Trump covered Rescisions in the thread, but there are Deferals also mentioned...Obligated Funds.

But...your link defines Obligated funds as a contract. If there is no detriment & benefit to both parties, then there is no legal contract.

Meaning, the USA is not obligated to fund Egypt or fix that boat in Yemen or fund gender studies in other countries.

“...The woman is not all there. And what is, is highly suspect....”

It’s not a woman...it’s a shell of a woman fully possessed by a demon. We call it the vile, demonic Botoxian around these parts.

To the Democrats the national debt means nothing and they would continue to print, tax and spend our money. The $2000 they want to give away to everyone means nothing to us but debt for future generations.

You have that exactly correct. Their decision has been to avoid another Great Depression. That may be coming anyhow but that is their thinking.

On the part about the Democrats, you let the Republicans off way too lightly. They all voted for it too except for a very few.
