LOL! He’s good!
But compared with some South Indians I’ve known, he’s very fair. Some of them are Black - and I don’t mean ‘African Dark-Brown Black’, but BLACK.
(And the obsession with fair skin is prevalent in many parts of the world - Asia and Mexico/South America, for instance.)
If you go into an American pharmacy, you’ll find aisles full of products that ‘Black’ people use to lighten their skin and straighten their hair. And other aisles filled with products that White people use to tan their skin and curl their hair.
We want to be each other. Nobody is ever satisfied.
I am reminded of Dr. Seuss’ Sneetches.
ALL cultures show preference for lighter skinned people. The ruling class of any culture is always biased toward light skin. If a Dravidian black guy overthrows the king in a generally dark skinned society he will marry off his own progeny to the lighter skinned members of that society. Those coal black South Indians are genetically Caucasian. Some have blue eyes.
In a wealthy generally free society light skinned girls can be obsessed with a “healthy tan.” In all others light is right.
