the take out ^ | 12/16/2020 | Allison Robicelli

One of the most exciting things about roasting a ham is the guarantee of leftovers. I’m sure with enough training and perseverance it’s possible to finish off an entire ham in a single sitting, but outside of winning a bet, what would be the point? Each and every ham that comes into your life should be allowed to delight you in myriad ways, and we’ve got ideas for how to make the most of every morsel. No sad microwaved ham slabs for you! You deserve nothing but good things, and, as always, ham is here to help.

Sandwiches Anyone can make a half-assed ham and cheese sandwich, but if you put a little work into it, you can have a ham sandwich so brilliant that other, inferior ham sandwiches will tremble in its wake.

Chop it up, put it in a slow-cooker with barbecue sauce and coca-cola, let it cook for a few hours, freeze sandwich-sized servings. Not a gourmet dish but pretty good when you want a hot sandwich but don’t want the prep.

Whether it is nobler to eat the ham or gnaw the pickled pigs knuckles, that is the question..

My wife hates split pea soup which is what my Mom always made. Putting the ham into scalloped potatoes with cheese sauce is how we roll now.

Reminds me of something I saw a couple of years ago. We were looking to maybe have a house built and decided to scout the area outside the neighborhood on a Saturday. Couple blocks down theres a mosque right next door to a Baptist church. The Baptists were having a barbeque fund raiser......the mosque looked like an abandoned ghost town....not a car not a person, nothing....it was hilarious. Lol

I make it with whole milk, butter and pepper.

We also put it in Mac & Cheese when we want a cheese sauce. I’m getting hungry
