What is Festival?
The verbal party that ensues on the tail end of the old thread when we switch to a new one. Some stay to argue their points to conclusion before switching, some miss the thread switch and get trapped in the free for all festival ti they notice we have moved on.
Festival is where a the old rabbit trails go to die...
“What is Festival?”
Festival is what happens on the old Q thread after a new Q thread is created. Can become quite crazy when folks continue to air grudges, post new things that very few people will see (because everyone has moved to the new thread) and where people will wander in the wilderness lost because they don’t realize a new thread has been created.
It’s a term Bagster attached to it based on an old Star Trek episode.
“In the episode, the crew of the Enterprise visit a seemingly peaceful planet whose inhabitants are “of the Body”, are controlled by an unseen ruler, and enjoy a night of violence during “festival”.

Festival is where you continue with the old “Q” thread when there is a new “Q” thread started.

and don’t ask how all the windows magically get fixed every night...
Festival occurs when a new thread has begun, but people are still posting to/ reading the old thread. Once you see Ransom’s visual invitation to the new thread, you are in Festival.. where things get unruly. Some posters miss the visual invitation and are lost for a time on the old thread... posting valiantly to no one. Some posters, who want to post something iffy go back and post it in Festival.
Bagster coined the term as a reference to a Star Trek episode, which can be found on YouTube. It captures the mood of Festival well.
We’ve been together over three years and have developed our own lingo... and have borrowed some from the chan anons.
Welcome, newbies!
You aren’t in Festival.
You don’t need to know.
