According to The Hollywood Reporter, Qi, 39, died yesterday after first arriving at the hospital back on December 17 with symptoms that were attributed to the consumption of poisoned tea. While the Shanghai police did not initially provide much identifying information about the suspect other than their surname and the fact that they worked work Qi at Yoozoo, the South China Morning Post identified the suspect as Yao Xu, another film executive recently tasked with heading up Yoozoo’s Three-Body Universe, the unit within the company responsible for overseeing projects tied to the Three-Body intellectual property.

Well one body is now not a problem, so that leaves 2 bodies left..
I had to go to Wikipedia, and with Wikipedia they tell you the entire plot. There is no quick synopsis.
So no one cares about this work as a story. All they care about is whether it can make money for some people.
Post-Modernism has morphed into just pure greed.
Surprised it wasn’t ruled a “COVID” death.
And no harvested organs before disposal of the body...
“Don’t drink the milk, it’s spoiled.” /Obscure
Lin Qi no worky.
Now I’m going to have nightmares and have to see a therapist.
For a bit more depth.
I’m reading the series right now. They are great sci-fi novels—worthy of the acclaim, IMHO. I highly recommend them.
Tiger paw left and right
I definitely did not like the ending of that book. Sort of a “lay back and take it because there is nothing you can do” thing. Quite un-american.
“Don’t drink the milk, it’s spoiled.”
From an old Little Rascals/Our Gang comedy from the 1930s.
Personally I like...Livia Augusta, upon the death of Augustus, telling Tiberius...”Don’t eat the figs.” —from I Claudius.
Yes, that was it.
It will be difficult to make because the people on Alpha Centauri are never described, and have the ability to dehydrate to store themselves when conditions are not conducive to life. We get the impression that they look like X-shaped sponges, but that’s just an impression.
Besides, “The Three Body Problem” is just the introduction ... for “Dark Forest” and “Death’s End”, as well as the fan-written Bao Shu’s “The Redemption of Time”.
Much of the goings on in China deals with Mao’s time and all the horrible things that happened to people. Will they gloss over or omit this material?
Not sure that even today’s CGI can do justice to all the concepts presented in those books: for instance how do you portray a 4-D or a 2-D solar system?
Now I am seeing Sidney Greenstreet and John Hodiak or some such negotiating a bribe with a police official.
The Three Body Problem is alternately titled Remembrance of Earth’s Past
—
“Benioff and Weiss said they’re excited to spend “the next years of our lives” working on The Three-Body Problem, indicating that it could end up being a multi-season story for the streaming platform.”
—
They could very easily.
—
“I have the greatest respect for and faith in the creative team adapting The Three-Body Problem for television audiences,” Cixin said in a statement. “I set out to tell a story that transcends time and the confines of nations, cultures, and races; one that compels us to consider the fate of humankind as a whole.”
No expected release date has been announced.”

If done right and it finds a big audience, it will be like “The Expanse”, but bigger.
Also coming to Netflix date unknown from Cixin Liu:
“We’ll now get a chance to see China’s science fiction smash, “The Wandering Earth”, based on a short story by Hugo-winning author Liu Cixin. Netflix has announced it’s acquired the film, bringing the country’s first sci-fi blockbuster to audiences around the world.
“According to the Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has acquired the U.S. and international distributing rights to The Wandering Earth. Based on a short story by Cixin, who won a Hugo Award in 2015 for The Three-Body Problem, The Wandering Earth has made over $600 million at Chinese theaters since it came out earlier this month, making it a smash success in the country.
“The film features Chinese action star Wu Jing (Wolf Warrior 2) and was directed by Frant Gwo. It takes place in the distant future, as the sun is about to explode, meaning humanity has to find a new solar system to colonize and survive. Netflix has not yet given a release date.”

In physics and classical mechanics, the three-body problem is the problem of taking the initial positions and velocities (or momenta) of three point masses and solving for their subsequent motion according to Newton's laws of motion and Newton's law of universal gravitation.[1] The three-body problem is a special case of the n-body problem. Unlike two-body problems, no general closed-form solution exists,[1] as the resulting dynamical system is chaotic for most initial conditions, and numerical methods are generally required.
The problem is the lack of a general closed-form solution. We have that for 2 bodies in motion but not 3.
It’s a great scifi trilogy series. 3 body problem is the first book in the series.
