Looked into growing peanuts, star anise and cardamon. Then came to my senses

So the usual tomatoes, peas, beans, cukes, melons, peppers and eggplant. Zone 6

I have grown peanuts in southwest Pennsylvania(zone 6) for several years. They’re easy to grow and interesting to watch grow. I have started indoors and sown directly. Give it a try.

I actually found a peanut plant growing in my CNY garden one year.

I guess the squirrels forgot about it.

Fennel is sometimes listed as a substitute for both anise and star anise. It should grow in your area. So would true licorice, which is what they’re all described as tasting like.
