If this is true (and I am skeptical), the Deep State may think Schiff is too much of a loose cannon. Given his ties with Ed Buck he may be charged with some sort of sex crime. Throwing Schiff to the wolves may be a sop to the Republicans so that the RINO wing of the GOP can tell the rank and file that the FBI is not just a Democrat enforcement arm.
