That sounds perfectly reasonable in the abstract, but it is thin consolation indeed for a dear loved one who has been prayed over fervently at-length. When the rubber meets that road, off the cliff it flies.
"Angels have eternal life before any judgment."
agere_contra:
"God cannot forgive any fallen angel, because the fallen angels will not repent."It’s important to understand that angels exist in eternity. They are outside of time, they behold God (unless they choose to be separate from him) and they ‘have all the information’ in regard to any decision they make.
"Angels understand all of the consequences of their actions. If an angel rebels, its decisions are final and irrevocable in a way that we temporal creatures can barely understand."
To me, the profound question is:
Surely, it is because the angels, unlike humans, have been FULLY exposed to God's love and goodness since their creation; therefore, their knowing rebellion against Him cannot be anything but final.
I feel the same way.
PS Merry Christmas!
And I wish for you the very merriest Christmas! Our Savior is here—what more could we possibly want or need?!
Sure.
I have many loved ones who defy Our Lord daily in their choices, lifestyles, and worldviews. They are pure enemies if you really get to the rubber meeting the road.
I do what I can for them - PRAY. A lot.
It’s in God’s Hands. What else can we do? They know where I stand and what the Bible says. They think God is ‘love’ and no matter what that will prevail, justice is always absent in their minds and they relish their evil deeds & opinions. They don’t even view them as evil.
I know they are hanging by a thread off of that cliff you refer to.
It wasn’t a parable when The Lord said “many” and “broad” regarding the road to destruction.
* You have troubled yourself to share the Gospel with them: "They know where I stand and what the Bible says."* You have listened attentively and discerningly to their woefully inaccurate excuses: "They think God is ‘love’ and no matter what that will prevail, justice is always absent in their minds and they relish their evil deeds & opinions. They don’t even view them as evil."
* You have considered carefully their plight in light of God's revelation: "I have many loved ones who defy Our Lord daily in their choices, lifestyles, and worldviews. They are pure enemies if you really get to the rubber meeting the road...I know they are hanging by a thread off of that cliff you refer to. It wasn’t a parable when The Lord said “many” and “broad” regarding the road to destruction."
* You have sensibly and obediently resorted to your only remaining weapon: "I do what I can for them - PRAY. A lot."
A woman in our church, Nell Viera, prayed for her husband's salvation for FIFTY YEARS. I am very pleased to report that you will be meeting Mr. Viera in heaven.
Some Christian research scientists studied common characteristics of born-again believers and found:
1. no one who had not been prayed for beforehand, so KEEP ON PRAYING!
2. the average number of times they heard the Gospel before believing was between seven and eight, so KEEP ON WITNESSING!
Thanks bro for the encouragement.
Prayer does work, no doubt, but the enemy is in full force trying to ensure his misery has billions to accompany him.
I look forward to seeing my Savior more each day.
Looking forward to meeting you at His feet.
Blessings!
