I was raised the same way. Raised for 10 years when I was young on a farm. Raised our own cattle and chickens and pigs. Drank whole milk, ate farm fresh eggs for breakfast. Had real grass fed beef and healthy hogs. There were people that were our neighbors that were in there 80’s and some in 90’s that ate steak and pig and chicken and bacon with every meal and were healthy and worked there farms forever it seemed. Now all that stuff is bad for you, but why did they live so long and be healthy.
There was an old dairy farmer in the small town I grew up in that they put on a low cholesterol diet at 90 years old. It was probably good for him because every day he would drive as far into town as he could without a license and walk to the local diner and have his hotcakes and eggs with lots of butter. Bob Mac would make him anything he wanted but his wife wouldn’t. 😀
I am a big believer in keeping your protein up....and all those foods have plenty of protein. The trick is of course not eating until you’re gonna bust...unless you want to weigh 300 lbs..
I think part of it was their work ethic. Old college roommates grandfather was throwing 50 lb hay bales in his 70’s. He was kicking my @$$ and I was in good shape.
My FIL lived to be 87 and ate everything listed including real butter.
