The 1st Trumpet Section in a marching band is like the lead guitar player in a rock band. They just have to be steller. Been there, done that. In the Music Man, a pool hall was moving to town. They had to have a boys band to protect the boys from trouble. Heck. As soon as one trumpet player reached 16 years of age and got access to a car, the 1st trumpet section was down there at the East 2nd Ave. alley entrance pool hall. RACK eight ball 15 cents.
