I think I became interested in radio when my brother built his first crystal set and grounded it to a radiator - voices coming out of the 'ether'! I think that's also the same feeling that fascinated me about the Internet, in its early days before the WWW became popularly available. Now, they've both become so hi-tech and sophisticated that they just don't hold the same charm :-(
