Yes, but government-mandated COVID restrictions are very popular, the incoming team favors MUCH more severe restrictions than have ever existed in the US, so your notion of them "getting out of the way" is a fantasy.
Accordingly, instead of giving $6 trillion to the money center banks to accelerate their "usury for everyone" dream, a government which ruins individuals CAN and SHOULD compensate them fairly.

Helping Americans who aren’t allowed to work should be top priority. They didn’t think they’d get called out on all the foreign aid and pork in this “stimulus” bill.
Are you serious? Pelosi wanted $1200 checks; McConnell and the Republicans forced it down to $600. The Democrats caved on a lot of areas - checks, unemployment, money for states and cities - in order to get something signed. Now Trump has completely shafted McConnell and the Republicans in the Senate with this $2000 check demand. Of course Pelosi is going to pass something as soon as she can. Why wait to put Moscow Mitch on the hot seat and give them something to campaign on in Georgia?
So they are not sending millions to Pakistan? How about the Kennedy Center? What about the rest of the laundry list?

Even the left were pissed when they saw the billions going out of the country on BS spending and pork barrel kickbacks.
Much of this is due to Facebook I think, the attacks and information went viral there and even the idiot non-informed voters saw the numbers laid out in black and white and the $600 payout to citizens and pretty much had a poop-fit over it.
First, I don’t buy this - source is agitprop, at best.
Second, the bill is unpassable. It is such a mess.
I think he can pocket veto this to buy time (2 weeks I think) and by then I hope he’s exercised whatever option he’s got available to slam dunk the coup plotters and send everyone down for lifetime membership to The Resort.

There actually are two bills with loads of pork within one bill. Sounds like an attempt to separate out Covid relief from government funding for operations...with a crap load of pork.

A $900B would equate to every man, woman, and child receiving a check for about $2900.00, that’s without salary cap or other exclusions.
To have it reduced to $600 (which is 20%) is heretical.
There is so much pork and garbage in this bill that both left and right congresscritters were protesting passage...It’s a terrible bill and the McConnell Turtle never should have let it pass...
McConnell is the one that threw Trump and the American people under the bus......

They are afraid of a pocket veto by Trump if they revise the original bill. That way they force a VETO on the original. TBD what happens after that.
