The new Army and West Point: Freshmen will be Freshmen, this cheating isn’t too bad. Disgusting.

Agreed, everything is downstream from culture. We’re witnessing what happens in all aspect of life when secular culture has taken over our society.
When the culture of the great state collapses, everything disintegrates. Look at Rome during the crisis of the 3rd century, Constantinople before Turkish conquest, or the Ching Dynasty in the late 1800s.

Wasn’t there a cheating scandal in the mid-70s? 76, 77 iirc ? What’s the precedent.

Cheating on school exams is worth national news, but an ENTIRE NATIONAL ELECTION being cheated and switched - “meh... fake news...”

The ones who weren’t kicked out were probably the sons of important people, you know like McCain.

West Point Motto:
Duty, Honor, Country
The Cadet Honor Code states that a cadet will not lie, cheat or steal, nor tolerate those who do. A cadet who violates the Cadet Honor Code shall be separated from the United States Military Academy.
Here is an excellent in depth look at the 1976 cheating scandal.......

The Cadet Honor Code states that a cadet will not lie, cheat or steal, nor tolerate those who do. A cadet who violates the Cadet Honor Code shall be separated from the United States Military Academy. They must not have cheated, the word is they are not being separated, just on some watch list.

The main lessons from 2020 may well turn out to be:
1. Lying, cheating and stealing pays.
2. Laws are for the little people (Unless their lawlessness in politically useful)
3. As George Carlin said “If voting mattered, they wouldn’t let you do it”
If Biden actually takes office, that is my take away from all this.

I don’t know how you justify the decision not to expel. I'm suspecting that the decision not to expel may revolve around the cadets either being related to "important people" or members of "protected classes". In other words, people who would not have gotten in on pure merit, and thus may have difficulty passing a test on a hard subject that would be objectively graded.

I just posted what the original honor code used to stand for, not for what is being interpreted today.....
Check out the link to the 1976 scandal I just posted....

During my illustrious 6 year "career" in the United States Armed Forces I never ran afoul of the UCMJ. Not a single court-martial,not a single Article 15. As a result I am very unfamiliar with specific articles but I know that there are numerous articles that deal with the many types of dishonesty that a soldier/sailor/airman/Marine might engage in that could get him/her in trouble.
Perhaps an Army/Navy/Air Force JAG officer could weigh in on this.IIRC there is at least one Freeper who is one...I interacted with him/her once.

I thought cheating brought instant expulsion. Defining deviancy down.
