Fox News and Newsmax, facing lawsuits, walk back wild fraud claims about voting-machine companies

Facing the threat of lawsuits for defamation, Fox News and the upstart right-wing network Newsmax have begun broadcasting segments walking back wild election fraud allegations against voting-machine and software manufacturers Smartmatic and Dominion.

“Newsmax would like to clarify its news coverage and note that it has not reported as true certain claims made about these companies,” host John Tabacco said Monday, attributing the “opinions and claims” to “various guests, attorneys and elected officials” who appeared on the network. The charges, which the companies say are baseless and have been widely mocked as ridiculous, originated with former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, who accused the two companies of conspiring with Democrats and the Venezuelan government to tip the election to Joe Biden.

The truth is always a valid defense against charges of defamation. It would appear that Fox and Newsmax don’t believe that they can back up their claims with sufficient evidence.

It’s called lawfare. Right or wrong is irrelevant when you are facing unending legal bills for no potential gain.

Unless you’re soros rich, you can’t afford to fight these kinds of law suits.

Just produce your evidence in court. You may still lise. But that may is a low %, if you’ve got facts. Frankly, discovery should be on the news organizations side if they are on the side of the truth. Additionally, Fox is in a grwat position to defend itsself. Nrwsmax, while not as strong, is also well positioned.

They’re wasting their time. Unless President Trump is successful, the tsunami of litigation waiting early next year will rock Fox/NM something serious. Thus, they shouldn’t bother changing their tune. Their only hope is the President preserving his presidency in the face of fraud.

Same applies for those hoping to rely on presidential pardons. While effective against federal charges they aren’t against state charges. The boats have been burned, the only way is forwards to victory or lose and be destroyed.

Oh, and such reports only dilute the truth. Making already biased judges even more reluctant to rule on such evidence.

Yahoo News is Propaganda. Note their mixture of quotes from announcement and their own injections:

“Newsmax would like to clarify its news coverage and note that it has not reported as true certain claims made about these companies,” host John Tabacco said Monday, attributing the “opinions and claims” to “various guests, attorneys and elected officials” who appeared on the network. The charges, which the companies say are baseless and have been widely mocked as ridiculous, originated with former Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, who accused the two companies of conspiring with Democrats and the Venezuelan government to tip the election to Joe Biden.

1) It is Yahoo News that is calling the charges of Powell as "baseless".

2) Newsmax is remaining neutral on the claims.

Conclusion: Yahoo News is asserting an official position for a network...a narrative that they as an organization deem to be true. While Newsmax is not asserting an official position. This is quite different than "walking back" a position. Rather it means Newsmax is presenting news, and Yahoo News is reaching conclusions.

In Short: Newsmax is news, Yahoo News is propaganda.

Let's ignore propaganda folks.

Have you seen how the courts have been ruling? Truth ain’t what it used to be. I could see why a startup like Newsmax might be scared.

It would appear that Fox and Newsmax don’t believe that they can back up their claims with sufficient evidence.

If I were either one of them I would be more worried that the court would refuse to hear the evidence.

If the courts refuse to hear the evidence brought on behalf of the very President of These United States, what hope do they have that their evidence would be heard?

Why would they back election fraud allegations when the lawsuits for defamation has NO evidence that it did not happen?.
Is it let’s play with the law books again?

More than enough sources to stay informed.

Stop paying to be lied to. Cut cable tv. January 20th would be the perfect day to do it.

Yahoo News is propaganda.

Yep! I've said that on another thread. Yahoo has been a leftwing outlet for many, many years. After the 2016 elections, they've shut down the comment section after every news article. Back then I was reading many articles on Yahoo and the majority of the comments were from people who supported Trump. I was shocked because I had not seen so many people support a republican before on Yahoo. After the election I noticed Yahoo started shutting down their comment section. Some other sites did as well.
