Who shoots dogs, anyway? Metaphors work when people recognize them easily and I've no concept of what a shot dog "goes down" like.

Is that an assasination hint? I don't recall the dog comms well but remember Comey(?) talked about his old dog dying and those who are better at comms said it was Bush Sr. And Q drops - every dog has it's day (McCain)

I’ve also had a vibe that POTUS virus was actually a deliberate assassination attempt of some sort-contracted at that debate.
