“When I first got here, I ran because we were mortgaging our kids’ future,”
“I’m not heartless. I want to help people. I voted to help people. I voted for the $2.2 trillion CARES Act, but I also am concerned about our children’s future.”

“ It’s a pity any of these sorts of unlawful bills got out, inclusive of bailouts.”
According to Trumps calculations, we’ve spent $7 trillion on our mideast wars since George Bush launched them 17 years ago.
But it’s “unlawful” to spend money here in America on Americans in need.
So, we spend $3.33/week/’merican?
I’d rather get the $2,500/yr 0bama promised with Traitor Robert’s Healthcare Bill rewrite.
Do you complain about the cost of our wars, all of it borrowed?
No, there’s just a ton of wasted money and programs out there and like you point out, but a handful of our reps even complain, on occasion.
Sad, but true FRiend.
That’s another matter.
For one, undeclared wars, even UN “police actions” included since the Constitution does not allow Congress to hand that power off to another body, are not lawful. Therefore the spending on them are not lawful.
As for domestic matters: people’s circumstances are not amendments to the Constitution. Even if those circumstances are dire. The job of the federal government is to obey the Law that permits it to exist and nothing else. It is not the job of the federal to take care of the people, to boss around States or communities or schools districts, to fund colleges or to manage industry or agriculture.
War can at least be lawful if actually declared by Congress.
