I really liked the first two McCartney albums, that and Ram. A bit weird in parts.

“Junk” is one of the prettiest melodies you’ll ever hear.

I wish Paul would take the advice of Billy Joel when speaking to Elton John. “Elton should stop releasing new music, because it damages his legacy.” July 25, 2018.

XMSirius Classic Vinyl has been playing a lot of McCartney and Wings recently. It's awful.

He missed George Martin. It's telling that probably Macca's best Wings song was "Live and Let Die", which George produced.

If I want contemporary indie pop vibes, I’ll listen to Ian’s son Baxter Dury

The Beatles broke up at the right time. Generally a band or artist has about a 6-7 year window of creativity before they turn into a nostalgia act.

Yep. Understand. Nonetheless the article makes the case that it takes decades to appreciate McCartney’s solo albums I and II and yet III has “widespread acclaim” on the day it is released.

Yeah right.

It’s true, in many cases I find Pete’s demos more enjoyable to listen to than the finished product.

Another person who does fantastic demos is Andy Partridge of XTC.

I LOVE the long intro on Paul’s
“live & Let Die”.

Somehow, Paul captured what a hot Summer Afternoon by the frog pound sounds like. Very creative and not overdone.

“XMSirius Classic Vinyl has been playing a lot of McCartney and Wings recently. It’s awful.”

“Band on the Run” and “Venus and Mars” were very good albums - but he has also released his share of shmaltz.

Despite my misgivings about The Beatles, they undeniably generated a great deal of excitement.

As a teenager who first discovered The Beatles on the radio in mid 1963, I still love listening to their numerous recordings and just ordered the vinyl record LP of Paul’s new album. Can’t wait to receive it!

Saw Paul live in concert last year, and it was great, three and a half hours on stage with a very entertaining show. I saw The Beatles live in 1966 and they did a forty minute set with thousands of teenage girls screaming drowning out their music.

I am not a big fan of most of McCartney’s solo stuff. This is his best since Flaming Pie in my humble opinion. Good for him. (Now if Neil Young could find a way to squeeze out one more good album after decades of crap.)

I don't think that their (The Beatles) music - inventive as it was - has aged well ...

Other than the fact that it's played many millions of times each day more than fifty years after their breakup?

"McCartney and Wings recently. It's awful."

From Helter Skelter to -> Band On The Run.

Wow, what a decline.

I heard it in its entirety over a week ago. (Don't ask me how.)
