For decades, pythons have been identified as one of the biggest and most concerning invasive species in Florida, having drastically impacted the populations of a number of native species and permanently altering the ecosystem since they were first introduced into the wild.

But now, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) have a new weapon in controlling the population of these threats to natural wildlife in the region -- Truman the black Labrador and Eleanor the point setter.
Truman and Eleanor are the two biggest stars of the FWC’s new Detector Dog Team. Their task? Hunting down and helping their handler’s remove Burmese pythons from the wild.

She has a nice pair of snake boots.
I had no idea they were in Florida!
History Channel tonight airing “Swamp People, serpent invasion.” They are paid a bounty to catch the pythons. They are using infrared guns to spot the snakes, also using drones.
Be careful or those dogs will be snake lunch.
They are doing that, using drones. At least on the TV gator snake hunt shows. They went out at night with a heat sensitive camera on a drone & got quite a few.
They catch them live and get several hundred dollars for them.
need a bounty on them...

They still had the heat from the day in their bodies. They actually stood out quite well in the video.
Dang! Way to supplement retirement income!
Well fine. Kewel.
I agree. Even then they breed so much that its doubtful they can be eradicated. They need to train some animal to eat their eggs in the nest.
Why do they have to be brought in alive? What giant arse thought that one up? 12 gauge buckshot in the head, and all that should be required for bounty is whats left of the head.
I think most of the value is in the skin so killing them would lead to rapid rot in the swamp. I am not sure if it is a State requirement to keep them alive until the bounty is collected.
Like democrats.
I went through jungle survival training at Cubi Pt. Carrying only a bolo, a piece of string, and a handful of rice, the Negrito instructor responsible for our group was as tough as nails. The Negritos were MacGivers before MacGiver!
Ain’t that the truth! Thanks for serving...did you cook your rice in your bamboo “stove”...:)
Heh, I was in Boy Scouts over there, and I thought all that stuff was the best thing since sliced bread...I presume it would be different when you were both being graded for passing, and might have needed to depend on it!
Hahahaha...I had to laugh watching that video...couple of rednecks, one with a cajun accent...
One of them almost took a bite right in the crotch!
The only thing that could be improved on watching those two guys would be to have a twelve pack already down the gullet and one in the hand...:)
“There’s that Green Anaconda! Hold muh beer!”
