SMH. I have heard commercials off and on since this began. They all seem to be devoid of reality-and an attempt to paint an illusion.
Since I’m not particularly scared of the WuHuFlu and definitely not depressed about it—it all seems soooo fake.
I guess some people are fearful and depressed about it, but I just don’t know any in my neighborhood. Life is about the same as always here in our tiny town and environs.

IMO you have ID'd a major issue - fantasy. Modern media, modern thought is more and more fantasy. The world seems to be running from reality, truth. (I don't even run from Soma! :^D )
