What Will Happen to Gun Rights Under the Biden Presidency?

Any time a liberal candidate is elected to become President of the United States, gun rights and regulations take center stage. Historically, gun sales have surged in the two months between a Democratic presidential nomination and inauguration. And that’s precisely what we’re seeing right now.

A Quick Primer on the Second Amendment

Whenever gun laws and regulations become a key topic of conversation, it’s important to push past the filler and focus on the meat. In other words, start with the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights and what it says:

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

That’s it -- nothing more and certainly nothing less. It’s 27 simple words, passed by Congress in 1789, ratified in 1791, and held as law for nearly two and a half centuries.

First off, the right to bear arms is an insurance policy against a government that could potentially become too onerous. And as the American government continues to grow and tighten its grip on its citizens, having the means to overthrow the government (if necessary) is more important and relevant than ever before. (Nobody is saying it’ll ever come to this, but having this option is something that’s integral to protecting the rights of the citizenry.)

Secondly, the right to bear arms gives citizens personal protection against domestic enemies. In the early days of this country, there was no state or national police force -- particularly in rural areas. Instead, wanted criminals had bounties placed on their names and armed citizens were expected to capture them. Armed citizens were also expected to protect their own homes (and help protect their neighbors in times of need).

That all depends on whether or not enough Republicans vote in the Georgia runoff elections.

Don’t get every conservative family member, friend, neighbor and acquaintance to vote, and your Second Amendment rights will be violated in several expensive ways. So far, the most conservative justices (except Kavanaugh), have opined in dissents that it’s okay for government to regulate firearms (including assault weapons bans, bans against semi-auto pistols, mail order ammunition, etc.).

Some of the local firearms and ammunition dealers here and there are okay with major gun control bills, because they want their neighbors buying for more ($) from them instead of being able to order by mail. Many law enforcement folks would be happy with it, too, and you know why.

Depending on what part of the country you are in, law enforcement will be on our side. They keep weapons at home also for self defense and live with us. I am thinking about county sheriff’s.

I’m giving the article a thumbs down for lack of mention of the importance of getting the vote out for the Georgia runoff elections. The author also neglected to mention some of the Democrats’ more important gun control plans.

* They plan to make interstate orders of ammunition and parts illegal except for purchases by FFL holders. This will increase profit margins for unpatriotic firearms and ammunition dealers, by the way.

* They’ll develop many partnerships between federal and state and local police agencies including large funding programs to entice those state and local agencies. The Clintons were known for using that strategy during the 1990s. It will soon be used to get state and local judicial offices, social workers, psychologists, media outlets and others to join in confiscation efforts

* They’ll attack handgun ownership, self-defense and ammunition supplies in several ways. They always come back to gun control against handguns. This will be done also with heavily funded partnerships (bribes, in essence) between federal, state and local governments. They’re going to entice and pay, in essence, state and local governments, state legislators, police agencies, prosecutors and judges to outlaw concealed carry and self-defense except for those with much higher incomes from government revenues or government-connected businesses.

Their side is politically informed and politically astute. Ours is not. Get educated, and stop attacking your own allies (AG Barr, Senators Perdue and Loeffler, all) without even knowing why they do what they do.

Learn to tell the difference between honest people providing honest news and the crazies and opportunists. Stop latching on to conspiracy theories with narcissism and confirmation bias. Learn to use the media tools at your disposal to win instead of shooting down the efforts of your best friends.

Get an education in civics. Realize that we’ve been beaten by Democrats who have, in fact, been more educated and adept at convincing many of your neighbors to vote for them. Realize that you are up against many tens of millions of people who get their great incomes and benefits from big government and tens of millions of other people who were easily duped into believing the Democrats and hating you.

Do you realize how many people in your locale listen to the only FM, news (propaganda) and talk radio stations around, broadcasting from colleges and big cities: NPR? Teachers, students, female employees in retail and other services, their adult children,...? On local FM radio, I’ve only found religious/preaching stations, country music (new stuff, with a huge heap of extra, overdone twang or country-rap), 70s/80s/90s rock and roll (headache) and NPR (two of them). The radio stays off most of the time. Same on AM radio.

We don’t have Gun Rights, we have Civil Rights.

Politicians who attempt to restrict and violate our Civil Rights are Traitors to our Constitution and to the Republic.

"The British demanded we give up our guns.

We shot them.
"

The generations of people around us are nothing like the people in those early American colonies. They and their immediate ancestors had fought against religious tyranny and monarchist European culture for many years before coming here. They were a very moral and principled people. They were inventive builders and makers.

Nearly all of my neighbors are among the most conservative, old fashioned people in the U.S.A., but they continue to be fans of NASCAR, the NFL and gluttony in general. They're spendthrifts with short attention spans in search of immediate gratification. They don't mind the local boy who works as a cashier in a dress or the girls covered with the marks of ugly grooming. They believe that learning is only good for students in public schools and subversion colleges. "Our school, our team! Yea!" They're selfish. They ignore possibilities of bad consequences for their poor choices instead of considering those consequences and guarding against them. They obey political correctness in the recent (150 years) tradition of western romanticism and misguided western chivalry in hopes of getting higher incomes and more respect than their neighbors.

See what those sheriffs do, when they’re offered big reward$ for going along with new federal policies and penalties for refusing. Watch the next tide of pork roll in. Remember the other judicial folks (prosecutors, for example), whose branch of government was just strengthened against the other branches even more. And remember how many legislative and executive branch officials are also lawyers.

I definitely would not count upon adversarial, steroid-using, roid-raging officers to be our bestest-buddy good pals.
They have failed us countless times at President Trump rallies and even at Back The Blue events...where they allowed Michelle Malkin to be attacked.
Especially after they are told to go arrest people and confiscate guns...or instead be fired and lose salary, pension, and lifetime medical benefits.
