Ouch!
I need a Marlboro.
The one part of your body that is really adversely affected by this is your butt.
The very first year I did the ride it was on a gel saddle. When I got in the saddle the morning of the second day, this describes what it feels like:
Imagine you remove the seat from the seat post and replace it with a short length of 2x4. Mount the 2x4 with one end sticking straight up situated with the 4” width perpendicular to the bike. Now sit on the seat with each butt bone riding on one of those two corners/edges.
That is EXACTLY what it felt like.
The good news is that that feeling goes away after about ten miles. :)
