SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Five people were arrested and over two kilograms of fentanyl, two kilograms of cocaine, 11 firearms, and approximately $12,000 was seized after a long investigation into drug trafficking in the area.
According to Hampden District Attorney spokesman Jim Leydon, on December 5, members of the District Attorney’s Hampden County Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant of 29-year-old Julian Delgado’s home at 26 Columbia Terrace in Springfield for his alleged involvement in the distribution of cocaine.
A prior motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of Delgado and yielded one kilogram of cocaine. After detectives searched his home they seized another kilogram of cocaine, found in a cardboard box under a Christmas tree.
Delgado was charged with trafficking cocaine of over 200 grams, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
According to Leydon, two days later, investigators learned that 39-year-old Maralaisy Gil and 41-year-old Junior Degracia of Springfield both would be traveling to the Lawrence, Massachusetts area to receive a large quantity of heroin/fentanyl. Later that evening, a traffic stop was conducted where officers seized six large bags containing approximately 2.87 kilograms of Fentanyl from inside the vehicle.

If you are over 50 and you think you are going to get any drugs after you broke your arm or had any kind of surgery - you’re out of luck. Even if you’re hit by a car, tough.
The lesson learned: don’t alienate your local drug dealer because that will be your only source of pain medication.
