Pa. Gov. Tom Wolf and Health Department Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine announced a number of new coronavirus mitigation efforts on Thursday, but they won’t impact classroom learning.
The restrictions that go into effect at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday and last until 8 a.m. on Jan. 4 include, among many other things, a ban on indoor gatherings of 10 people or more. The order signed by Wolf, however, specifically addresses school settings.
“Classroom instruction by school entities is not a “gathering” or “event” for purposes of this Order,” it reads. “Nor is a meeting of electors, including any preparation, to perform the duties enjoined upon them by the Constitution and the laws of the Commonwealth and of the United States a “gathering” or “event” for purposes of this Order.”
Some parts of the educational experience for K-12 students will be impacted, however.
“Voluntary activities sponsored or approved by a school entity’s governing body or administration are suspended,” according to the order, and “All sports at K-12 public schools, nonpublic schools, private schools and club, travel, recreational, intermural, and intramural sports are paused.” But, schools can continue to follow their in-person and/or hybrid learning models as long as they are adhering to all of the rules put in place by Wolf, the Department of Health, and the Department of Education.
The indoor gathering order also does not impact churches, synagogues, temples, mosques, and other places of congregate worship, but the order says that “these institutions are strongly encouraged to find alternative methods for worship.”
“The measures I’m announcing today are intended to be temporary,” Wolf said during a virtual news conference. “I ask all my fellow Pennsylvanians to stand with me and unite against COVID. I’m asking that we work together to turn the tide of this surge so that our communities can safely bridge the gap between where we stand today and when a vaccine is widely available.
“By working together to stop the spread over the next three weeks, we will be saving lives. But we have to do it together.”
Other mitigation efforts include a ban on in-person dining, a reduction of capacity at retail service businesses, a ban on indoor operations at gyms and fitness facilities, and a prohibition on indoor entertainment businesses “including, but not limited to, theaters, concert venues, museums, movie theaters, arcades, casinos, bowling alleys, private clubs, and all other similar entertainment, recreational or social facilities.”
Pennsylvania Ping!

Sounds like EVERY Bar and Restaurant in Pennsylvania is having Reading Lessons ALL NIGHT LONG while they serve food and drinks to the “Students”
Excuse my language, but it is necessary. Just ignore this shit. Seriously, nothing that someone that willing cut off his dick means anything. The only way out of this tyranny is to ignore it and go about your daily life and when someone objects to it, they just shoot them in the head.
And counting lessons:
“Ninety-nine bottles of beer on the wall...”

Equal Protection refers to the idea that a governmental body
may not deny people equal protection of its governing laws.
The governing body state must treat an individual in the same
manner as others in similar conditions and circumstances.

After this yo-yo I hope Pa. never again votes for a DemoRAT!
Depends if Dominion will be criminally prosecuted.
Honestly I’m thinking about moving to West Virginia and hunkering down in the Appalachians at this rate.
Nope. Not returning to face-to-face teaching until the Biden communist obedience face masks, face shields and gloves are no longer needed.
I can understand....we’ll just see how this goes....But one wonders just how Wolf got elected!
