Unlikely that a 5VDC charging current is going to electrocute someone. Something else occurred here.

Exactly. Even overseas with voltage differences, the current would be insufficient to electrocute anyone.

The charger converts the 120V to the lower volt phone so if dropped in water, there is no conversion taking place. The bath is taking on the full 120 v......

I just did a search and other such deaths have happened.......
