Given the that the speed of light is the limit that no entity can exceed, it is a physical impossibility for any biological or mechanican device to visit earth even from the nearest star. That is not to say that given the fact that earth has been transmitting broadcasts for 120 years in analog and 50 years in digital, some distant alien civilization, perhaps linked by similar signals with even more distant civilizations, has “heard” us and a reply is on the way. However biological and physical entities are not possible. Could be the aliens are using our atmosphere as a giant screen to project their images. there has been no actual physical evidence documented.

There are what’s called “seed ships” or “generational ships,” that are large enough to carry enough crew with enough space on board to reproduce, ensuring that the craft reaches its destination. Or a large number of crew is frozen/put into stasis, then thawed as necessary to ensure a constant number of crew. This is all at subluminal speed, so as to not “violate” “laws” of physics.
