@RandPaul
I'm speaking on the floor in support of two bipartisan joint resolutions of disapproval blocking a UAE arms sale. Someone must ask the question: Can a lasting peace be purchased with more weapons?

Yes, a relatively decent peace CAN be bought with weapons.
Ask the NRA and our Founding Fathers.
What is Rand thinking?

"Someone must ask the question: Can a lasting peace be purchased with more weapons?" A peace, lasting or not, can be purchased with arms to oppose a common foe: Iran.

If President Trump believes it to be a decent sale, who am I to argue?
However, you are free to revile President Trump all you want.

Rand was an FR hero a couple of weeks ago. Now it’s back to being a moron. LOL.
How many times have arms we’ve sold to these ME shytholes been turned against us? Plenty. Rand is not entirely off base on this. I’m sure the resident FR Internet Warriors (Armchair Division) will disagree.

"Now it’s back to being a moron. LOL." And all based on one phrase. Amazing at all the small minds that are around.

The UAE is about the most reasonable,rational of the Arab states.

Anyway without skilled technicians to do the maintenance weapons like this soon become inert junk.

I've traveled in the UAE. Of course that doesn't make me an expert but my hunch is that they're rich enough,and smart enough,to ensure that their weapons are properly maintained. They certainly have good motivation...they hate,and fear,the Iranians.

Agree !
But for some reason if we cut off parts & training the aircraft would soon end up being useless. The more advanced the weapon technology the faster it happens.

Oh shut up with the reviling President Trump hysteria. You sound like an old woman. Im opposed to selling the arabs F35’s because when you sell hardware to the third world you sell them one notch down from Your top equipment. Get it?
