The reason why NXIVM seems unimportant is that Raniere and his top lieutenants have long, deep ties to many NY politicians including Clinton, Gillibrand, Cuomo, and others. The news media is barely reporting this story for obvious reasons.

Clare Bronfman sentenced to 81 months (6.75 years) for crimes related to NXIVM cult.She was expected to get 21-24 months but the judge increased the time due to the nature of her crimes.
