I hope Aldi just stick to their knitting and remain grocers instead of weaving into social justice or some stupid crap like that. Wish Aldi would occupy all the abandoned Walmart green grocer locations around here but we would still have to drive 30 miles to get to one.
Their business model is very sound. The small store concept and just what you need stocking in bulk makes things so simple. Same layout every time. I can be in and out of the store in 30 minutes with two weeks worth of groceries if I can keep my wife moving instead of having a stroll through the store. I suffer no distress with the sameness.
There are so few things at Aldi that are jot just as good or better than name brands it is not worth mentioning.
They're right around the corner for me so I go almost every day. I'm 77 so getting a couple things every day works for me. And I exercise me and my car at the same time.
Aldi is EXCEPTIONAL on dairy products but HORRIBLE on meat.
Ive gotten bad meat on 2 occasions at Aldi. I’ll never shop there again.
Second that motion. I'm especially fond of their version of "Two Buck Chuck" sold at their sister stores, Trader Joe's. It's called Winking Owl and goes for $2.89. Occasionally, other products will change, probably using a different processor or whatever. I stopped buying their English muffins and cheese crackers when the quality went down, but everything else I buy is as good or better than big brands.
