Finally got to watch the final episode of Showtime's documentary on The Reagans. This time he's presented as a man who used the fools of the religious right as a voting and fundraising scheme by lying to them about wanting to repeal Roe v Wade. Not sure if that was a strategy he thought up on his own or if it was orchestrated by Nancy's astrologer, who also figures prominently in this episode. We also found out that he only approved of the Strategic Defense Initiative because it reminded him of a movie he was in and how one sentence in a debate won him 49 states and 525 Electoral College votes (his record of the previous 4 years had nothing to do with it)
In a bad twist of timing we learned how Rotten Ronnie killed 10,000 people by not funding AIDS research as we sit through a pandemic that has killed 30 times as many people in far less time. But what really gets the Irony meter pegging is when his son and others talk about how it appeared that near the end of he second term the man whose finger was on the nuclear war button was exhibiting early signs of Dementia while 30+ years later those same people sing the praises of someone who shows far more advanced signs and now they think he will make a wonderful POTUS.
The bottom line is that this was a documentary made by haters for haters so nothing is taken away from the legacy of one of the great leaders of the 20th century. People who appreciate the Reagans can enjoy the old clips while laughing at the bitter old losers who still have Ronald Reagan's many accomplishments eating away at their souls after all this time and will stay bitter knowing that nothing in this hit job of a series will change one mind.

The left always made a big stink about Reagan’s senility. Oh, the irony. Reagan on his worst day 1981-89 was light years ahead of where Joe Biden is right now.
The series is over and I won’t be making any more posts on it. A keyword would be a waste.

Reagan knew what he was doing when he authorized the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) or “Star Wars Defense”. It was based not only on intelligence about the continuing major Soviet missile buildup programs, but also on the B-Team Report on the 1970’s Soviet military build up, headed by “Collins” (LOC) and Gen. Daniel Graham (US Army DIA head, Deputy CIA head, Vietnam veteran, etc. and classmate of mine in 1977 at an international affairs and defense strategies seminar held by the Un. of Miami, Prof. Leon Goure’ heading it).
Reagan knew how the communists thought and fought, and he was nobody’s fool, esp. after the anti-defense debacle of the Carter surrender Administration. He knew what the treats were and what had to be done. In the late 80s/early 90’s, his work paid off with the (apparent) downfall of the Soviet Empire/Union (which reemerged smaller but just as dangerous in some areas under Putin).
I remember the funeral procession when people lined the highways and the overpasses in CA to cheer for Reagan one last time.

None since Reagan except for Trump have that kind of devotion.
I didn't miss anything. I don't care. If people want to search for it there are several ways to do it. If they don't want to make the effort I won't lose any sleep over it.
When will these production companies make some series on the anti American tactics and corruption of a Rat President such as Willey and B.O.? Never! But it would be good if some company would. The problem is it would never see the light of day.
Peggy Noonan, a Reagan speech writer and a person who should know, denies that Reagan was showing any signs of senility in his last months in office. For doubters one can read her “When Character Was King.”
