A Canadian-invented pizza has been deemed the most popular pizza in the U.S. for 2020, according to an annual report from food delivery app GrubHub.
GrubHub's "Taste of 2020" report has crowned Hawaiian pizza as "America's Favorite Pizza" after finding the pie was 689 per cent more popular than last year.
The "Taste of 2020" report is based on trends gathered from more than 30 million orders on the Grubhub platform. According to Grubhub, the order trends detail the rise in popularity of certain food items placed by U.S. diners from January-November 2020 compared to the same timeframe in 2019.

The dish tends to spark debate about whether the tropical fruit should be used as a pizza topping.
Greek-Canadian Sam Panopoulos said he created the pizza in 1962 at the Satellite Restaurant in Chatham, Ont.
According to his 2017 obituary, Panopoulos claimed to media outlets over the years to be the first to put pineapple on pizza after deciding that chunks of the canned fruit might make a tasty topping. He reportedly called it Hawaiian pizza after the brand of canned pineapple he used.
However, Panopoulos' claim to pineapple on pizza isn't undisputed.
The Associated Press previously noted that some suggest that pineapple pizza was invented in Australia, while others say it evolved from a German dish of ham, cheese and pineapple on toast.
Or clams
Agreed, in fact Pineapple is one of my favorite fruits, just not on pizza.
My daughter loves Hawaiian pizza.
To each their own I guess.
Rome shocked me, Tokyo was like cuttlefish and fake cheese....
Sausage pizza in Sevastopol, Crimea.
The sauce was ketchup and the sausage was sliced up hot dogs. I'm not sure what the cheese was.
I had some pizza in Civitavecchia, a port city near Rome. It came on a super thin crust and there were two choices and only two choices: sauce and cheese or sauce and anchovies. Some restaurants served what they called "Pizza Americano" which was basically a personal pan pizza.
I make my own with fresh cut pineapple, Maui onions and prosciutto. Comes out pretty good.
Rome, they used no red sauce, just a smear of olive oil, a fried egg, artichoke, a piece of ham.. no cheese other than a dusting of Romano..
Gross. Pineapple on pizza. It’s almost a crime against humanity.
:)
GA Southern used to host a big baseball camp every year, and a couple of teams from Australia would participate.
The ONLY pizza they would ever order was ham & pineapple. This was in the late '80s.
I’m almost converted ;)
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Yea, okay buddy...
Go ask any pizza show owner what they sell more of... Pepperoni or Hawaiian Pizza... this is ludicrous on its face...
IDIOTIC.
You can say its grown in popularity more than any other pizza last year perhaps, but no way in hell that Hawaiian pizzas sell anywhere near standard cheese or pepperoni pizza’s in volume... Just idiotic
OMG!!! LOL!!!
Asians love pizza with corn and pineapple.
Its a crime against humanity.
What? No chicken foot pizzas?
I use the neck, and use secret hobo spices...
When I was in the Air Force I went TDY (Temporary Duty) down to Italy a couple of times. There was a place just off base that made great pizza! And they cooked it in a brick oven or something, you'd order it and they'd bring it to the table in just a few minutes.
You pineapple people are animals.
