My Dad served in Hawaii for about a year during the war before landings in New Guinea and the Philippines.

He always blamed FDR for the attack on Pearl Harbor.
I don’t, I think Washington warned Pacific commanders an attack was coming, but none, including MacArthur, were prepared for what happened.

Not FDR’s fault.

Agree. The military leaders believed that the Japanese would most probably attack us in the Philippines or some of the other far western American islands. The though of attacking Pearl Harbor was a remote possibility.
