Microsoft has a $hit operating system. The only thing keeping Microsoft afloat is the Office suite.
Microsoft’s largest growth sector is Azure cloud with Teams a close second. To say Microsoft is being “kept afloat” by Office is ludicrous.
As others have said, windows server, sql, azure, web services, teams, powerbi, visual studio, Xbox is where it is at, microsoft also has a fantastic hardware team.
I agree that the consumer os (win 10) is annoying but i have only run server skus for since win2k
I still have my unopened copy of 2003 that billg signed :)
Office 2021 coming out 3 quarter of next year that will be a one time purchase instead of you having to rent.
You can of course get a FREE Office suite called LibreOffice and save your files as microsoft docs.
