President Donald Trump on Saturday suggested former Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) primary Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp in the next gubernatorial election.
Collins, who ended up third in a free-for-all race to fill the Senate seat left vacant by the retirement of Sen. Johnny Isakson, joined Trump on stage during a rally in Valdosta on Saturday night.
After calling Collins “one the greatest advocates I’ve ever met in Washington,” the president added, “Doug, you want to run for governor in two years?”
The crowd cheered and applauded as Trump said Collins would “be a good-looking governor.”

This is why POTUS is doomed.... could he suggest a bigger RINO? So fing stupid. He nhas instincts for liberty, but no sense of conservative philosophy or policy.
Such a stupid suggestion:
If SCOTUS fails us and Trump does not heed Flynn and declare martial law. I don’t want to hear about any more politicians.
That is the CORRECT way to deal with these slouches in Georgia. Trump fully understands the stakes here.
The WRONG WAY is to follow Lin Wood and hands the Senate to the Democrats.
It’s not difficult...if one compares the two options.
A shaky old white carpetbagger goes to Georgia...
No way.
My pre-coffee bad. Doug Collins, not Susan Collins. I live in the Northeast.
It’s not so much a suggestion for Collins as a shot at Kemp.
Concur. But POTUS has promoted so many anti-MAGA pols that I “can’t even...”
Part of the problem is the dearth of solid candidates who might have a chance to win anything - especially with all the RINOs fighting for themselves instead of us, being willing to torpedo the good ones.
Concur
Can trump pick someone who can win an election at least. How many times have the voters said no to Collins statewide? More then one is too many.
He’s just rattling Kemps cage.
I agree with you. Time to use blunt instruments. Should have done it earlier, though.
I hear you...but I’m on the side of Trump. I don’t live in Georgia, so it’s not a huge deal to me. It could be that Trump is indirectly sending a message to Kemp - saying that you won’t have a (fill-in the blank) Primary, but will have a Primary against someone who will probably defeat you.
...we’ll see if it works.
The actions of the Georgia GOP aside, if we lose the Senate the Demcorats have made it clear they intend to pack the courts.
So fing stupid.
Sounds like an emotional conclusion, one based on no more than a very small part of the larger picture.
He has instincts for liberty...
That is an important prerequisite for understanding our country and it is good you recognize that...
...but no sense of conservative philosophy or policy.
And, insofar as that is true, not much opportunity to learn on the job, especially with the astonishing lack of support from the Republican party and the unending personal attacks by the rest of government.
Such a stupid suggestion:
Do you think the audience here is so dense that you need to repeat the point (your USNA credentials are becoming less impressive)?
Trump now realizes how wrong he did Collins early on—and how loyal to the cause Collins has yet remained.
Wow—he had me fooled.
Of course, CCP globalist Kelly is no Georgia peach herself, but I found some of what’s on this list eye opening:

Everybody can betray Trump. Whomever he works with is completely expandable. Once Trump has no use for him, dump him. He has a small number of people he can really count on and large loyal support base.
Been saying this for a month.
