I do everything better once the coffee kicks in, LOL!

Yesterday we got our beef steer. He is so dang CUTE, but luckily, he’ll grow up to be an unruly brute and it won’t bother me to eat him after dealing with him for 18 months, LOL! His name is ‘Weber.’ We’ve already raised, ‘Dinner’ and ‘Supper.’ ;)

My salad greens are STILL doing well in the unheated greenhouse, but I had to compost the three tomato plants this week; the only reason they made it this far was the warm & SUNNY Fall we’re having. Good weather ahead for another week. Highs in the 40’s, lows in the 20’s and SUNSHINE. Yay!

I started some more lettuces under lights indoors and I have two 6-packs of spinach that I brought in and are ready to eat. I harvested the last of the red cabbage and there are still Brussels Sprouts to harvest today and some random lettuces to dig up and move to empty spots in the greenhouse.

We’ve been taking advantage of the warm (relative) weather by cleaning up the deck, getting rid of the hot tub, getting some junker cars and an old skid steer off the property - YAY! My favorite thing is to shed stuff!

All the hunting dogs are fine; we did lose Claire (Plott Hound) to a kidney issue - seems to be a problem for the breeder we have used for them - it’s happened 2x now. Enough! No more dogs from him...I’ll grow my own! ;)

Beau is moving a few of them from their summer outdoor kennel to insulated doggy condos for the winter; it’s too much work to keep the snow & waste cleared from the area they’re in right now, and the older we get, the more careful we have to be of where we’re walking. An unfortunate truth - both of us are sunk if one of us is down. :(

Doing some Christmas Prep and decorating around the house, and since Beau is off at the ‘Rabies Round-Up’ this morning, with four of our dogs, I can get some sneaky gift wrapping done. The ‘Rabies Round-Up’ is a function of their Raccoon Hunt Club - a local Vet gives rabies shots at a discount to any hunting dogs that show up. Beau has it all planned out so there is little people-to-people contact; just Vet to Dog contact.

Have a Good Day, Everyone! Looking forward to hearing what you’re all up to. :)

Our yard and gardens are all cleaned up and the property looks ready for winter, but very bare. Hubby put out the nativity scene this week in the front yard and the Santa in one of the gardens. Our roofline has lights that stay up all year, but we only light them at Christmas time, so those are on at night now. This weekend we decorate the indoors for Christmas. I have done the deep cleaning this week and have all the boxes of decorations in the dining room waiting for my 21 year old daughter to come over today and help. She majors in theater production and is used to building and decorating sets for plays, so she is great at Christmas decorating!

You have both been busy! I would love a greenhouse for greens late into the season. I have been concerned about falls outside for years, always keep a phone in my pocket. I have a goal of finishing up a wreath I am working on. Want to get it finished so I can clean up and start another project Monday.
