Weekend Nor'easter to Lash Northeast With High Winds, Rain, Snow
The Weather Channel ^ | Dec 4, 2020 | Jonathan Erdman

Posted on 12/04/2020 2:04:21 PM PST by metmom

A nor'easter is developing along the U.S. East Coast and will bringing rain, wind and snow to parts of the Northeast.

Similar to the storm earlier this week, named Winter Storm Dane by The Weather Channel, this weekend nor'easter is expected to develop from the teaming up of energy from two jet streams.

However, this weekend storm will track much farther east than the storm earlier this week.

This means some areas that were soaked with heavy rain earlier this week may instead see snow. Other areas hammered with snow earlier in the week may see little precipitation. However, some areas may once again see a soaking this weekend as they did earlier.

Winter storm warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service for parts of New England from Massachusetts to Maine where heavy snow will make travel conditions difficult dangerous this weekend.

Winter weather advisories are also in effect in parts of Vermont and Connecticut, where travel could be tricky.

I’ve been in FL on vacation when the NE is getting buried.

It’s kind of surreal.

Do you really want all of us in the north to move down to join you? We could all pile into FL and enjoy the sun and surf, too.

As usual, the weather reports are ultra-hyped.

Most of the major population centers will see little if any snow.

The moose in the mountains could have a tough go of it...

If you are conservative, welcome. I think that was part of the message from the recent election. Fl which had a giant increase in pop as those from NE fled south and those from PR came to the mainland proved that not all new citizens are wide eyed libs. Thank God for that. We have a level headed governor, whom the psycho left is trying to unseat, so we can use all conservative open minded voters we can muster.

We’re forecast to get 6+ inches of heavy wet snow with 15-20 mph winds.

We’re putting everything away and getting ready to lose power as we often do in storms.

We are and I would love to.

I love FL and would happily live there but the decision is not all mine to make.

I was watching the weather channel this morning and it showed the “spaghetti routes” of where this Nor’Easter may head up the east coast. And realized that I don’t have to worry about those now that I’ve moved from the DC metro are to the prairie and fields of northern Indiana.

I’m on the coast of Maine and we’re expecting rain here.

Northern and western Maine....8 - 16 inches of snow, depending on where you’re located.

The advantage of living near the ocean.

We’re in NH and expecting a bunch of heavy, wet snow.

If we get the six inches in the time frame they are forecasting, it should be snowing pretty heavily.

One year I scored a couple extra days vacation from work stuck in FL when the mid atlantic was shutdown for snow.

If you get that heavy wet snow and then the temp drops way doen, you might get lucky enough to get a nice thick ice crust to ice skate on. We were only 7 miles in from the ocean. Back in those days, a nor’easter was a full fledged blizzard with 2ft+ snow. Now, it’s any ole snow skiff.

Parts of NH are looking at 8-16 inches with wind gusts of up to 35 mph.

People can pooh-pooh it all they want, but if they are not in the teeth of it, of course it not a big deal for them.

But with those winds, if trees come down, the power will go out.

It’s more than just a snowfall.

But news sells adverting. Anyway, they upped the expectations due to what they think "dynamic cooling" will do, while nearer the ocean the type of snow means it weighs at least double colder snow, so its harder to move. Yet they want us to wear masks doing it (even WHO says not to that when exercising).

Most of the major population centers will see little if any snow.

So what?

It's not over hyped just because cities don't look to be hit hard by it.

There are plenty of people in these areas that will have to deal with this storm and this is for them. If it doesn't affect you, feel free to not comment on it.

I've noticed that it's easy for people who don't have to deal with things to blow them off as no big deal. It's a very arrogant attitude.

Oh, please, you drama queen. You act like the area has never seen snow before.

Let’s face it: It is a liberal area and they love to be drama queens and victims of everything. You don’t hear the caterwauling in any other places that get far more snow, just “look at me!” nonsense from the liberal areas.
