Funny how so many here are dumber than rocks about ancient remedies.

Hippocrates ‘father of medicine’ first wrote how silver utensils and cups killed bacteria whereas other materials were observed to have bacteria grow wildly.

In the middle ages, the knowledge of the curative powers of silver led to the practice of christening babies with silver spoons as “born with a silver spoon in their mouth”, a good practice to keep babies from ingesting bacteria.

The founder of what is now known as Monsanto stated results of colloidal silver action on microbial agents in human subjects were astonishingly successful.

Numerous studies have confirmed these findings.

What the idiot posters here on FR are likely pissing on about is quality control. Silver ain’t cheap. Scam vendors are likely selling vegetable oil crap as colloidal silver.

I got rid of my stainless steel flatware a few years ago, and only use old silverplate. (Until I find a good deal on sterling silver at an estate sale). I’m sure we get trace amounts of silver when eating with silverplate, but whether or not it does us any good, I can’t tell. I don’t usually get sick, though I used to get bronchitis a couple of times a year. Haven’t had it for at least a couple of years now.

Post some links please. Here is a quote from the first one that I found about the safety of swallowing ground up silver. Drinking from a silver cup and using silverware is one thing. Eating them is another. Have you ever heard the saying, "too much of a good thing."?

“However, no sound scientific studies evaluating these health claims have been published in reputable medical journals. In the U.S., the Food and Drug Administration and the Federal Trade Commission have taken action against several companies for making unproven health claims.”
