At first she was claiming that her employer was trying to stiff her on the tip. Now we hear that the owner claims the the credit card transaction was declined, but is going to give her the money anyway. That’s quite a 180. I wonder what really happened.

I think Responsibility2nd’s post above explained it. I tend to overtip, especially now, and I had a card transaction held up because they thought my tip was too high.

Needless to say, it wasn’t $2000! But that amount really would have attracted the attention of the anti-fraud department (which we all need...having had my card used fraudulently once).
