It’s always a crapshoot. Both Kennedy and Souter were more conservative til they got on the Court IIRC. They decide they like being stroked by the RAT Press.
By now it should be clear that those the Federalist Society pushes are GOPe ticking timebombs.
Far better to go out to the hinterlands and find some legit constitutionalists even if there is—gasp!—a state university somewhere on their CV.
