“Of course using a Faraday bag defeats half the purpose of having a cell phone; being able to take calls.”
Texts will “catch up” when signal is restored, and the rest is a half I could live without; I’m mobile so I can call out when I want, not so others can reach me whenever.
So. Pull over. Park. Take the phone out. Make my call. Put it back, and roll on. Tracking only gets data points where I “go live,” which I control. Tracing can’t tag me as being in contact with anyone setting out in my car in a parking lot.
Also, there are some mylars that a phone display can shine through from the inside, though they appears mirrored from the outside. Could go “airplane mode” and still read the shopping list through the bag.
Point is: defeating this governmental invasiveness doesn’t required Herculean effort.

Every time your cell phone links up to a tower you will give them a data point. Over a day those points will give them a pattern of your activities.
Other data points such as credit card use can give them a fair idea of where you were. If they are really interested. (I have really cut down on my credit card use since the COVID Hoax).
This is a school in Ohio under Dictator Michael DeWine so you can surmise that the use of this tracking app will be mandatory for all faculty and student. No decent will be permitted.
