Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. CMG, -0.03% said Monday that it is testing smoked brisket at 64 restaurants in Cincinnati and part of Sacramento, Calif. for a limited time. The item is going through the "stage-gate" process that brought items like queso blanco to the menu. Carne asada was another successful menu addition that was brought back this year. Chipotle stock has gained 55% for the year to date while the S&P 500 index SPX, 1.31% is up 12.6% for the period.
