It’s just the flu, bro.
Let’s flush this out. Let’s hear, for today only, from any Freeper, even non-Flubros.
Who supports the current ockdowns, mask mandates and social distancing mandates?
If you support any of these concepts above let’s hear from you. But beware - you will receive massive pushback here for your wrong opinions. My hope is that nobody voices support for any of these concepts. If nobody says anything in support of covidiotism then we can be confident that Freerepublic has very few people who hate freedom and liberty.
Many of the non-Flubros who do post on the Flubros threads tend not to focus on support for tyranny, but rather just prefer that we focus on China’s role, for example.
Thanks for that info. Is that reflective of the hospitals across the country or the system you work in?
I can speak did the state I work in. Incidence is up most places but likely to varying degrees. All the ICUs (and hospitals) in Colorado are full
How many covid and how many with “other”stuff?
Richmond Virginia’s hospitals are busy but not overwhelmed...it more like daily waves that go in and out around here some days not busy and the ICU’s not so full but some nights they flood thru the ER.
it varies but around 30% covid
COVID like Honey Badger...you wear a mask? Covid doesn’t care. You self-quarantine? Covid doesn’t care.
Lockdowns are proof of the definition of insanity...doing the same thing over again expecting different results.

"They included Brice Lalonde, a former French environment minister and ex-mayor of Saint-Briac -- and also Kerry's first cousin.
Their grandfather James Forbes bought the Essarts castle in Saint-Briac in 1928 and it has remained in the family since, being rebuilt as a villa after it was confiscated and later destroyed by the Nazis in World War II.
Kerry, who speaks French, has regularly spent time at the estate.

that is a month old. I have not admitted any out of staters and i work in many different hospitals. Maybe in some of the border towns. There’s not. lot of facilities in northern new mexico or western kansas
I wonder if we have data on how full the ICUs are generally in any given year.
I ask because several years back I spent some time in an ICU. And for the first day or so it was warranted. But the last several days, before they moved me to a regular room, it was clear I did not need the full ICU experience. I was walking the halls, etc.
It seemed to me that the ICU at that hospital was "full" but only because they hadn't moved me yet. And I suspect that they finally decided to move me to a regular room because someone came in that needed it more than I did.
And I wonder therefore if every hospital has a "full" ICU all the time.
It’s about what we see but no changes in abosolute death numbers from all causes...no spikes over the normal floor noises. Lots of double and triple tests being done for covid which come back negative before the docs realize that it was just some other garden variety sepsis/virus with aggravation of co-morbidities. The elevated ferritin and coagulopathies seem to be the true determinate of a covid infection even when testing negative for the virus. I hear a medical university in Iran was testing the use of desferal to leach the iron from the damaged hemoglobin in the blood and from the ground glass opacities that show up in the lungs. One of our nephrologists even said he doesn’t know why we aren’t trying it as he orders it for his hemachromatosis patients who have the same iron and ferritin issues.
I haven’t heard yet how the studies came out as the first results were due in Early October and since it was an Iranian Medical University anyway why would anyone trust what comes out of Iran these days?
This time of year it is not u usual to be fairly full for a couple of days at a time but not did a prolonged period setting up accessory ICUs in other areas of the hospital
Karens.
elevated ferritin in and of itself is an acute phase reactant and can be elevated in a number of thing. It is a combination of multiple lab and x-ray findings with the clinical presentation that makes the diagnosis. Again it is fairly unique in its presentation of you know what you are looking for. Other mimics usually declare themselves pretty quickly

So they have shorter months in Colorado?
What do you attribute reported flu-like-symptoms cases below baseline years with flu season well underway there?
So you are aware of the details of all CV cases statewide?
How many well patients come to you daily for help?
Hey dude back off. I’m on your side. first your story was dated Nov 3rd almost a month ago. Second it’s not the height of flu season here, it depends on the year. Third I am well aware of the statistics for my 17 hospital system and other large systems in the state that other family members practice in. i admit multiple covid patients every shift. I work in a hospital I do not take care of well patients. The surge and the full hospitals are real. Pretending it is not so doesn’t make it go away but does damage our credibility when speaking out against lockdowns and masking
Thanks. How much extra capacity was created with the accessory ICUs?
Sure and a huge spike in Covid Presumptive cases with large ferritin levels could include a few patient’s that have other causes for their ferritin spikes. Yet for those very sick with covid we see that pattern repeatedly.
“””But the last several days, before they moved me to a regular room, it was clear I did not need the full ICU experience.”””
“We’re just waiting for a regular bed to open up.”
You heard something like that?
I’ve heard that too when my wife and various friends have been in ICU over the years pre-covid.
Yes it is part of the clinical and lab picture
