We think this allows the carbon atoms to move into place forming both lonsdaleite and regular diamonds, like those found on engagement rings.

Strictly speaking, EVERYthing is made up of atoms. So, ANYthing can be turned into diamonds it would seem, no?

Only carbon can make a diamond.

Other gems are from other elements and minerals...........
