Meet Bowie the Pitbull. Dumped by his owner and rescued.
Video, 3 minutes & 22 seconds
Not their fault, they haven't been trained on how to approach dogs. I show them how to do it, and Ziggy responds with great affection.
For some reason, she doesn't like Sikhs...lol, she barks at every man with a turban.
Absolutely. When I watched the video, I wasn’t looking at the breed, only that it was an ABUSED animal that badly was in need of help and love.
Awwwww... glad this doggie was rescued. Nice story.
Awww, how wonderful that this poor dog found a loving home. Whoever left him to die in the dumpster should be beaten by a gauntlet of pet lovers.
My Ursa was ridiculously gentle, and she was devoted to my daughter. In fact, before I went into labor, for a few weeks, Ursa started spending a lot of time in the nursery, sleeping in front of the crib. When people would come to the house, she would bolt to the nursery and take her place in front of the crib. When we brought Beatrice home, she was in guardian/clown mode with that little girl until the day she took her last breath.
The only thing Ursa did not like were grapes. She’d bark at them... and squirrels. She HATED squirrels.
Oh... and the pedo who lived in the neighborhood. She would growl upon sight. He kept his distance (and we found out later that he was on the registered list. He could rent in our community because his mother actually owned the property. Ick.)
So is Ziggy named for the cartoon character or the Bowie incarnation?
Our sweet boy Berty Bert was a dobe/rott mix and he was so dapper and gentle. He was also the smartest dog I’ve ever owned.
The only thing about dobes that I don’t like — they have sharp pointy death needles that they shed and they find their way into your feet. He had the sleekest, sharpest fur. Other than that, every dobe I’ve met has been so beautifully gentle and loving.
They can bring the thunder when they need to, but really, the only thing that’s really deadly about them is their intestinal winds. Boyeeeeeee howdy!
I was against adopting her at first, but relented. She's a good dog, and we have to be careful with certain words around her, such as "walk"...lol. She's a 95 pound bundle of love.
My socks are full of those death needles.
I’ve heard they’re also venomous.
:)
I understand. I’ve got a few of those moments Myself.
Hang in there, Kiddo.
