The link given gives total 2020 deaths so far as 2.59 million but I can’t find the 2018 results. They make it very difficult to find the data.
Found it, 2.839 million.
The 2018 number I found, divided by 12, multiplied by 11, is 2.6 million. Essentially the same or a little higher than 2020, as you said.
and remember, the population has increased over two yrs, more deaths year after year are naturally anticipated...

I’ve been saying for a long time, one of these days people are going to figure out that no one had to die.
Now, it looks like, no one did.

Think about that. They don’t know how many adults died from flu two seasons ago. But pneumonia + influenza deaths were at epidemic levels.
I can’t find the CDC summary for 2018-2019 flu season.
