I was just watching The Dead Zone on youtube the other night. I loved Christopher Walken in that.
I recall he was greatly disappointed with Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of The Shining, saying that the movie deviated way far off from the book.
King is one of my favorite authors. When it comes to writing horror or suspense, he is one of the most gifted writers of the last 50 years. His productivity is also astounding. However, whenever he talks politics, he comes out sounding batsh!t crazy.
I don’t think he was always like this. His earlier books (pre 1990) are a lot more moderate whenever politics comes up.
It is clear that he always had an aversion to very devout, evangelical types. This comes out in “The Dead Zone” too. Which is ironic. He can see the crazy in them, but not in himself or other Lefties.
