King is one of my favorite authors. When it comes to writing horror or suspense, he is one of the most gifted writers of the last 50 years. His productivity is also astounding. However, whenever he talks politics, he comes out sounding batsh!t crazy.

I don’t think he was always like this. His earlier books (pre 1990) are a lot more moderate whenever politics comes up.

It is clear that he always had an aversion to very devout, evangelical types. This comes out in “The Dead Zone” too. Which is ironic. He can see the crazy in them, but not in himself or other Lefties.

He was always a liberal, but like the others, he's been wagged (wag the dog). I re-read The Firestarter just three years ago, and it was full of paranoia about secret government experiments and conspiracies, and the CIA was the bad guy, and corporate media was the bad guy, and Rolling Stone was the only magazine you could trust. Now? Now suddenly he's playing along with the MSM and the CIA! It's amazing how many liberals have been guided right into line.

It's probably why they thought over at FOX that they could do the same thing to conservatives.
