My first vanity in all the years I've been a member of FR.
Yesterday I took down my Trump flag. It was worn out with only the TR remaining. In it's place I put up AN APPEAL TO HEAVEN flag.
For those not familiar, the Appeal to Heaven flag was commissioned by George Washington just prior to the Revolutionary War for the six ships that made up the American navy.
The tree on the flag represented opposition to the British prohibition of American citizens cutting down the old growth forest on their lands. The British wanted these trees for use as masts on their own ships.
The flag was used throughout the War and was an acknowledgement that the fledgling American forces were outnumbered and out supplied and that it would only be by God's favor and grace that they would likely win independence.
So, I am appealing to heaven that in this election God will again have mercy and grant grace and favor on our country and that corruption in this election will be thwarted and His will be done.

Probably my favorite flag, next to our colors.
An Appeal to Heaven was flown by small boats - some privateers - as they sailed the waters of the northeast coast, in order to monitor and/or sometimes take advantage of a situation (delay, harrass, occasionally attack) - re British shipping and supplies; from the earliest seagoing efforts ordered by Gen. George Washington.
Granted, I was passing by your OP too fast, and missed entirely . . . thus, I basically repeated your work. Sigh.
Love this Idea! Will try to get one!
Anything that contributes to our education is no problem.
I guess it will finally start to sink in when they come after your "assault rifles".
Another thing I started thinking about is about a third of the police are gone now. Before, The police wouldn't have obeyed an illegal order, but now they will be hiring Antifa to police us. They would enjoy disarming us.
I have one too.
I would really hate for it to come to that. But it’s been heading in that direction for a while now. Trump only slowed it down a bit.
Got my flag today and put it up. I thought your sentiment was a great one, I found the rationale was inspiring.
I live in New England, and recently had gone on a tour of a colonial house, and the planks on the floor were the widest I had ever seen. The owner of this house was one who was known for deliberately thumbing his nose at the English authorities, and this was just another form of rebellion against the Crown for him.
I wonder what is the best conservative flag, button, and bumper sticker company. I don’t want to order from an outfit that carries fag flags and Che shirts.
I got mine through Amazon from “Founding Fathers Flags”...now, Amazon is no advocate of America, that is for sure, but I sure expect that Founding Fathers Flags wouldn’t carry Che flags or rainbow flags. I just went to their website and checked, didn’t see either.
Good quality flag, too!
Wow, that is incredible that the house is still there! You are blessed to live in such a historically rich place.
They are a bit on the hoity-toity side, but if you love history, they are awesome.
If you go to the link above, you see the houses they have in my state, but they also have all the New England states. We knew nothing about them, and just a few years ago, we were in Gloucester, MA and went to the house they called "Beauport", but also known as the "Sleeper-McCann Estate". (you can see it in the link above) Click on the Beauport link on that page and look at the pictures...:)
It is best known for being the focal social point for a group of people around the turn of the 19th-20th century, first and foremost, Isabella Stuart Gardener, who bequeathed her house which is now the Isabella Stuart Gardener Museum in Boston. It is best known to people in other parts of the country for the unsolved Isabella Stuart Gardener Museum Theft in 1990 where they made off with art worth $500 million including Vermeer's "The Concert", and Rembrandt's "The Storm on the Sea of Galilee". We went there last year, and the empty places are still on the wall.
Anyway, we were in Gloucester and decided to tour the house on the Fourth of July, and they told us that if we bundled in the cost of admission, and the cost of being able to watch the fireworks there on the lawn, then for only $20 more, we could get a years family membership in the organization. (it is typically $15-20 bucks per person to tour a single house!) What a deal. They give you a passport book, and each house has its own unique stamp, we visited a a bunch of them. Most of the time, there was no more than one other couple so it was very private. They have 97 properties, and we went to every single one we could...:) That house with the wide floor planks was one of them. We are going to buy another membership in a few years, and do the circuit again...:)
