The Reagans Part 2: Ronnie the Racist
Vanity ^ | 11/24/2020 | Oshkalaboomboom

About 10 days ago I watched the first part of a 4 part series on the life and times of Ronald and Nancy Reagan and posted about it here. This is my review of part 2 of the series.

While part 1 showed him as greagarious, loveable and a bit of a buffoon part 2 got downright nasty. He is portrayed as a racist who used code words to scare white people into voting for him to halt the black scourge sweeping America. He was the original dog whistler, though his son (who is the worst ingrate) said he never heard him use any racist terms around the home as he was growing up. Believe me, if he had Ron jr. would have been happy to talk about it. Ron also would have been happy to retire after losing the nomination to Gerald Ford had it not been for his pushy social climber wife. Really mean spirited.

In a clever twist they even managed to tie the evil Reagan to the even more evil Trump by showing Reagan's use of the slogan Make America Great Again

Once again there is some beautiful archived footage of the Reagans that makes it worth watching. If you can ignore the bile or watch it with the sound turned off it will bring back memories of a great man.

After I watched part 2 I went back to IMDB and changed my rating from a 5 to a 1. If you read my review of part 1 you will see why I originally gave it a 5 but now the nastiness and vitriol doesn't offset the great cinematography.

Reagan and Trump - two great Republican presidents with thoroughly mediocre crapmeisters from the same party as presidents and presidential candidates in between the two.

I started to watch Part 1 and turned it off after they used the word “actor” for the twentieth time.

The theme—”Reagan was a useless actor”.

I can smell leftist propaganda a mile away...

I highly recommend everyone _not_ watch this leftist trash—that is my fracking review.

They weren't the only ones. Clinton used it. It's a generic slogan. The reason it is used it is because it is both simple and effective, and easy to understand.

What a horrible calumny! When Reagan played football, and the hotel wouldn’t allow the black athletes to stay there, young Reagan put them up personally, long before it was cool.

Watch the election night coverage sometime. They called him “Ronald Reagan” the first time and “Mr. Reagan” the second time.

Ron Jr is a disgrace. Where that man came from, I don’t know.

You sound like someone who pays for cable channels. I download my material from private sites so Showtime gets nothing from my viewing it. I already know it's going to be Leftist trash so they aren't going to convince me of anything with their propaganda. So if it doesn't change my view like propaganda is supposed to and it doesn't make the creators any richer like they want then there's no harm in my watching it.

I highly recommend everyone _not_ watch this leftist trash—that is my fracking review.

I highly recommend you ditch the cable so you don't get yourself upset over leftist trash.

Every Presidential candidate from the third or 4th one on (the others would have left off the "Great Again" part) might have used it but if a 2020 documentary maker is using it prominently like Matt Tyrnauer did he isn't trying to bring back memories of Bill Clinton.
